@goooogrrr, you can read the whole message, not just the timestamp. The example isn't very goos, as the shown SMS are sent by an robot and they say how much credit is left in the account.

Scroll to 3:40 to see what I mean.

@goooogrrr, it makes sense.

If there is no SIM in the phone, then naturally, a SIM card reader is not going to help you in any way.

Note that there are some CDMA networks that _do_ use SIM cards; but I have absolutely no experience with them, so I cannot make any predictions.

I'll ask a friend of mine about it and let you know what I found out about the behaviour of such phones.

@goooogrrr, the one from Dekart reads all types of SMS stored on the SIM. The possibility of recovery depends on how the phone handles the messages; you can use this reference table: lazybit.com/index.php/2010/05/20/recover-deleted-sms?blog=2

It is not complete, but it is a good starting point.

One more thing - you can buy the Dekart reader from Lazybit with a discount, so that's another plus.

@isbtr, the device in question is Dekart SIM card reader. You can get it here: dekart.com/store/special_offers/sim_man2/

@pyrofrea69, unfortunately I haven't tried it with this phone, so I really can't make any predictions here. According to this list: lazybit.com/index.php/2010/05/ 20/recover-deleted-sms?blog=2, SMS recovery is possible for some Samsung phones, and not possible for others. You won't know, unless you give it a try.

Check out where the phone stores the SMS, if they are not on the SIM card, recovery is _not_ going to be possible (thus you can use this as a test to rule out the possibility).
